Střední uměleckoprůmyslová škola sklářská Valašské Meziříčí

The glass school in Valašské Meziříčí continues the tradition of former trade and factory education. The school was established in 1944 and has undergone many changes to date, which have always been flexible in line with the needs of the development of glass production in the region. Today, it is an important center of glass education, preparing students for the performance of glass professions in the arts, crafts and teaching fields.

 

Artistic preparation is provided in three art studios: drawing and painting, modeling of glass and shaped and painted glass. Quality practical training is provided by the school glassworks, painting and grinding workshops and a workshop for the production of decorative items. The work of the school's pupils has already won many awards at various competitions. Part of the internship is provided on internships in glass companies.

 

The school includes the top laboratory GLASS CENTRUM, which participates in research and development projects of new glass technologies and provides professional consulting services to small and medium-sized glassworks in the region. GLASS CENTER also has significant publishing activities, presenting its results at international glass conferences and technology seminars.
